New line to double capacity in the country by late 2018

Gulsan Group will add a second line at its Egyptian operation, doubling its capacity in the country to 40,000 tons. The 4.2 meter six beam Reicofil 4+ spunmelt line will be operational in the third quarter of 2018 and will serve the hygiene and medical markets. In addition to its Egyptian operation, which was established in 2014 to capitalize on growth opportunities in North Africa and Europe, Gulsan operates a multi-line plant in Gaziantep, Turkey. This site was most recently expanded in late 2015 when a 20,000 ton line—also a Reicofil 4+ spunmelt machine—brought its capacity to 85,000 tons. According to executives, the Egyptian investment will support Gulsan’s future growth in the industry and the region with highly sophisticated and up-to-date production technologies and reinforces the company’s position as one of the leading manufacturers of spunmelt materials with total capacity of 125,000 tons per year in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region. “We will continue to assess the needs and the dynamics of the market and accordingly plan to further grow in Egyp,” says Mehmet Kuyucu, commercial director of Gulsan.
